Fredonia man has new Hall honor

Fredonia’s Robert Olmedo was recently inducted into the Museum of the Greatest Martial Arts in the World.
Olmedo was inducted into the Houston museum Oct. 4.
“I dedicated this induction to my great family, my wife Gina, my son Alexander and his beautiful girlfriend, and the village of Fredonia, especially the Fredonia Fire Department,” Olmedo said. He is an officer for the department.
Olmedo also added a dedication to his family in his native Chile.
The museum is associated with the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, which Olmedo has been inducted into numerous times.
Olmedo has over 45 years of martial arts and self-defense training and is a black belt in six styles of fighting. He was a professional celebrity bodyguard who worked for clients such as Princess Diana, John F. Kennedy Jr., B.B. King, Carlos Santana and Sheryl Crow. Olmedo is also a CPR, AED and First Aid instructor, and has been a certified fitness instructor for more than 25 years.
