Ronald E. Kulpa

Ronald E. Kulpa, age 77, of Dunkirk, NY died Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2015) at the Ni-agara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. He was born in Dunkirk, NY on Aug. 23, 1937, the son of Julia L. (Krzakala) Kulpa of Dunkirk and the late Frank V. Kulpa, who died July 10, 2011. Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1955, retiring in 1975 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Following his retirement, he re-turned to reside in Dunkirk for the past 30 years. A parishioner of Blessed Mary Angela Parish – St. Hyacinth’s Church, he also was a member of American Legion Post 62, Dunkirk Veterans of World War II and a life member of the First Ward Falcon Club. Mr. Kulpa was an active member of the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard, participating in many military services as bugler and assistant chaplain. Besides his mother, he is survived by his children, Karen (Bernie) Payne of Lily Dale, NY, Mark (Rebecca) Kulpa of Monticello, KY, Richard Kulpa of Dunkirk and Belinda (Andrew) Pappal of Niagara Falls, NY; his brother, Richard Kulpa of Fort Myers, FL; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his wife, Anne B. (Miller) Kulpa, whom he married Aug. 29, 1959 and who died June 30, 2005; and his son, James A. Kulpa, who died June 26, 1993.Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9:15 from the Newman Funeral Home Inc., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o’clock in Blessed Mary Angela R.C. Parish – St. Hyacinth’s Church. Private interment will be in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
