Valerie L. (Gibbs, Wolcott, Dudek, Parker) Tompkins

Valerie L. “Val” (Gibbs, Wolcott, Dudek, Parker) Tompkins, 55, of Westfield, formerly of Fredonia died unexpectedly Sunday morning (Aug. 30, 2015) at Buffalo General Hospital. She was born March 30,

1960 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Ball) Gibbs. A lifelong resident of the area, Valerie was a graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 1978. She had been an active participant

on the class reunion committee. Previously worked at Fredonia school driving bus, Cliffstar in Fredonia, DFANSCOM, the OBSERVER and Fredonia Central School Cafeteria. A member of the Forestville and Portland fire departments, she also was active in the Portland Fire Police. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, loved the outdoors and camping. Survivors include her husband, Richard W. “Rick” Tompkins whom

she married June 6, 2015; two daughters, Tanya Wolcott of Dunkirk and Erica Vaughn of Erie, Pa; two sons, David Wolcott Jr. of Fredonia and Ryan Dudek of Westfield; two sisters, Beverly Thompson of Spen-

cerport, NY and Marcia (Ron) Sievert of Texas; four grandchildren, Alex Wolcott of New York, Destiny Wolcott of Dunkirk, and David Wolcott III and Dalton Wolcott, both of Fredonia; best friend of 55

years, Joy Buell; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Steven) Bonter and Carrie (Andrew) Paddyfoote, both of Hilton, NY, Sarah (Kevin) Magri of Churchville, NY, Aaron (Winnie) Thompson of New Mexico, Nathan

Thompson of Spencerport, and Tera (Michael) Deal, Jessica (Trinidad “Trini”) Navarro and Rachael Sievert, all of Texas. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10 o’clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Molly T. Golando will officiate. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will also be held at the fun-eral home at 7 p.m. by the

Forestville Fire Department. Burial will be in Balltown Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
