Larry J. “Hap” Perry
SMITH MILLS — Larry J. “Hap” Perry, 83, of Hanover Road, Smith Mills NY, passed away Monday, March 19th, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Buffalo, on August 1, 1934, the son of the late William J. and Gertrude W. (Davies) Perry.
Mr. Perry attended West Seneca Central School. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Army National Guard as a First Sergeant, after 25 years of service.
He was a member of the Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association, Stockton, where he served as President for 9 years and was a founding member of the Southern Tier Auto Buffs Car Club in Angola. Mr. Perry spent his retirement restoring antique tractors and cars, always joking and helping those in need. His greatest joys were his family and
great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Sylvia M. (Bodgan) Perry, whom he married on October 9, 1954, in Orchard Park, three daughters, Lindy Perry, Toni (George) Ortolano, Julie Kohler, and a son, Larry W. (Jennifer) Perry.
Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, David (Chelse) Perry, John (Jamie) Kohler, Michael W. Perry and Stephanie Perry and 2 great grandsons Roan and Rorik Kohler. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a daughter Debra Ann Perry and 2 brothers William A. “Bing” Perry and George O. “Bud” Perry.
At request of the family, there will be no visitation observed. Memorial Services will be at the convenience of family.
