Richard Tyma
Richard Tyma Sr. 75, passed away Thursday January 11, 2021 peacefully at his home in South Dayton, NY.
Richard was born April 30, 1945 in Buffalo, NY. He is the son of the late Stanley and Hattie (Dusszynska) Tyma Sr.
He worked at the Gowanda State Hospital for many years. Richard also worked at the South Dayton Meat Market and Austin Milling both in South Dayton.
Richard served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He also always enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends at their campsite.
He is survived by 2 sons, Richard Jr. (Katie Hopkins) of Woodbine Georgia and Anthony of Sherman NY; 5 grandchildren: Elija, Shawn, Little Tony, Zack and Kari; 1 Great-Grandchild Shawn Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Richard was preceded in death by his son Daniel; brother Stanley Tyma Jr.; and sisters Dorothy Jarvis, Irene Milligan, Lucy Grover and Nancy Fairbanks.
Richard has selflessly donated his body to the University at Buffalo Program for Anatomical Gift.
A gathering of love for Rich will be held for family and friends at a later date. The South Dayton American Legion Post 1593 and the Pine Valley VFW Post 2522 will be conducting the Military Services when held.
The family suggests memorials be made to the South Dayton Fire Department, Box 88 South Dayton, NY 14138.
