Marvin A. Waterman Sr.
Marvin passed away on Sept. 6, 2021, at his home in Anaheim, Calif. Born Oct. 2, 1935, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to Frederick Waterman and Florence (Palmatier) Waterman.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Florence Waterman; his sister, Patricia; brothers: Fred, Ronald and Robert Waterman;; his first wife, Margaret (Salemi) Waterman; granddaughter, Jamie Torner; and his daughter-in-law, Sheila (Smith) Waterman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lois (Russo) Waterman; his children: Patricia (Waterman) Miller, Marvin Waterman Jr., James Waterman, Tony Russo and Mary Kay (Russo) Amaro; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren: sisters: Nancy (Waterman) Kelly and Judith Waterman; brother, Carl Waterman; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was a U.S. Army veteran as well as a Master Mason of Dunkirk Irondequoit Lodge 301, member of Battlefield Lodge 714 Ontario Canada, Past Monarch Shariff Grotto, Scottish Rite and Mystic Shrine.
In 1972 Marvin started the Waterman Roofing Co. which still prospers today. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, and making woodcraft gifts for family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Sept. 24, 2021, in Anaheim Calif. There will be a celebration of life in Dunkirk, N.Y., at a later date.
