CASSADAGA – Kenneth W. Rose, 62, of Lakeview Avenue, Cassaaga, N.Y., passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, in Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, N.Y., with his loving wife Nancy at his side.
Ken was born July 29, 1959, in Dunkirk, N.Y., a son to the late Lee J. and Jean (Schultz) Rose.
An area resident his whole life, Ken attended and graduated Brocton Central School class of 1977. Following high school, Ken worked for a variety of local businesses before beginning his 41 years with Wells Foods Corporation (former Dunirk Ice Cream) where he had still been employed there.
Ken married Nancy E. King on May 13, 2000, in Dunkirk, N.Y., at St. John’s UCC Church and had recently celebrated 21 years of marriage.
In his spare time, Ken loved camping with his wife. Ken was a good story teller and will always be remembered for his quick sense of humor which brought many laughs. His dogs over the years brought Ken much happiness and felt rescuing a dog was a satisfying privilege. Ken also enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts. Ken was a good person and will be sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Besides his loving wife, Nancy, Ken is survived by his brother, Gary Lee Rose of Wichita, Kan.; his sister, Deborah (Dennis) Moser of Riverton, Utah; brother-in-law, Timothy O’Malley of Brocton, N.Y.; and sisters-in-law: Marcia King and Karen Ransom. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Michelle (Stephen) Blue, Kristina (Brian) Garrett, Marisa (Eric) Fisher, Daniel O’Malley and Lauren O’Malley, and 16 grand-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister, Wendy L. O’Malley who died July 31, 2021.
Per Ken’s wishes, all services were held privately.
Funeral arrangements are being cared for and provided by the MORSE FUNERAL HOME, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y.
