Seeking unity in America Editor, OBSERVER: How can we help re-unite America? By petitioning for our money’s worth, from every Party Politician, (we pay their salaries) to make decisions in our best interest, even though that may require crossing the aisle when something is good for America. There should be a harmony and an overwhelming majority in favor of all good things and likewise an overwhelming majority opposed to all evil things, so America grows forward to the good. Remember: “One nation under God.” Apply the “Golden Rule.” Are Republicans wrong to confirm ...

Pro-life words need action

Editor, OBSERVER: I’d like to respond to a recent letter that noted, “vote your conscience and faith” (Oct. 31). Professing to be pro-life is more then being against abortion; it is believing in the right to life “from womb to tomb.” Is it pro-life to allow a baby to be born, then limit the means by which that child can live a decent life? Is it pro-life to reduce WIC and food stamps for that child? Is it pro-life to discontinue unemployment benefits to that child’s parents? Is it pro-life to allow corporations to pollute the air that that child breathes, the water ...

Party powers hurt limits

Editor, OBSERVER: We are in trouble as a nation regardless of who wins this election. For too long we’ve been saddled with red and blue politicians who resemble hogs with two snouts, enriching themselves at the public trough. We must start the process of installing term limits for every elected office. Two terms and you’re out of Congress, and one term of five years for President so he/she doesn’t spend enormous amounts of time and money on re-election. Next install a 15-year term for Supreme Court justices. Allow each party to nominate a judge when there’s a vacancy, then ...

Motorists unsure at traffic circle Editor, OBSERVER: I think the roundabout in Fredonia may be a good idea in the long run, but people still don’t know how to properly use it. If going straight when your turn please leave room for those turning right at first entry so that person doesn’t have to wait for cars in front to go straight. I waited behind seven cars of which none left room on the right to go before them while they waited for an opening! Some people will know what I’m getting at when using a roundabout. Are we really discontent with Congress? Editor, OBSERVER: If you are satisfied with the job Congress is doing, you should probably stop reading this. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. Do you realize that, despite approval ratings that barely reach double digits, we send well over 90% of our representatives in Congress back to Washington every election? What does that say about us? As we approach the next “most important election in our history,” maybe it’s time to reverse course. We deserve the ...

Country needs dose of truth

Editor, OBSERVER: To any fair-minded person, it’s obvious how the media — a megaphone for the Democratic National Committe — distort, misinform, disinform and obscure the truth. Those easily manipulated believe without question as the radical Democrat/Socialist leadership sets the scene and steers the ship. Too many of those who lack foresight don’t see the inevitable outcome they’ve become a part of. The elite and international “banksters” who have been working this disinformation started this a long time ago. After World War I with Democrat President Woodrow ...
