Thirty years ago — 1990

Fredonia native Thomas Huber, the former New York manager for Money magazine, has been appointed to the new position of national sales manager, responsible for supervising the Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. Huber was a basketball star at Fredonia High School. He currently lives in Manhattan with his wife Diane. He is the son of Marian Huber of Arizona and the late Paul Huber.

Forty years ago — 1980

Student of the Week from Fredonia High School is Elisa Shokoff, daughter of James and Ruth Shokoff of 40 Leverett St. A senior, she is currently editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, The Spectator, and president of the Student Council. Elisa was named to the Dean’s List at SUNY Fredonia, where she is enrolled in the 3-1-3 program. She also had been an exchange student in West Germany. Elisa plans to attend Vassar College in the fall.

Fifty years ago — 1970

A “Humatune” group, a new musical instrument program, has been formed by the Federated Senior Citizens of Dunkirk.
