Thirty years ago — 1991

Margaret Wuerstle, the endorsed candidate of the Republican, Conservative and Right to Life Parties for mayor of Dunkirk, has announced the appointment of Linda Bradley as her campaign manager. Mrs. Bradley is a teacher of learning disabled students at Cassadaga Valley Central School. She resides on North Martin Street in Dunkirk.

Forty years ago — 1981

Dayton Town residents celebrated the official acquisition of the new town hall with an open house and tour of the building at Markhams Corners. Special guests were Will Astry, 91; Charles Seileman, 92; Ernest Berg, 92; and Laura Rhodes, 93.

Fifty years ago — 1971

Three Dunkirk teenagers held a backyard carnival and donated the $57 in proceeds to St. Joseph’s Home for Exceptional Children. Robert Sysol, Rod Sysol and Frank Kane held the neighborhood carnival at the home of the Sysol boys’ grandparents on West Beach Road.
