Thirty years ago — 1991

Forty years ago — 1981

The city of Dunkirk will start 1982 with a new Democratic mayor and a Republicancontrolled Common Council. Democrat Edwin L. Gregoreski edged out Republican Gilbert W. Snyder by 366 votes to deny the former two-term mayor a third turn as the city’s chief executive. It was the first twocandidate city mayoral race in 10 years.

Fifty years ago — 1971

The purchase of Dominion Distributors Inc. of Buffalo by the Fred Koch Brewery has been revealed by John D. Koch, vice president of the brewery. It was also announced that Brent Michaels, a native of Fredonia, has been appointed sales manager of Dominion.
