Submitted Photo: The Ninth Fredonia Alumni Golf Tournament was held July 14 at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk. The four-player scramble format included 21 teams of alumni, faculty and staff and friends of the university, playing on what turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. Winners included the foursome (pictured, from left) of Ken Drummond, Josh Harrington, Rob McAfee and Jeremy McAfee from Comfort Pest Control. Net proceeds from the event were nearly $9,000 to benefit the University Police Scholarship, Alumni Association Scholarships and the Fredonia College Foundation Scholar Awards. Among the many sponsors and supporters were Lake Shore Savings, LipsitzGreenScimeCambria Attorneys at Law, the Buffalo Bills, DFT Communications, West Herr Select Vehicle Purchase Plan, Basil Chevrolet Buick of Fredonia, Liberty Mutual Insurance, Star Media Group, Earth Risks Consulting (Michael P. Wilson, ’71), Tyco Integrated Security, the Faculty Student Association and the Fredonia Beaver Club. The 2018 tournament is slated for Friday, July 20 at Shorewood.
