Fredonia Lady ‘Billies basketball star Katie Price signs to continue her basketball career at the college level as a student athlete at Daemen College in Amherst. Price, Fredonia’s leading scorer in her senior season, had multiple offers to play at the next level, but felt that Daemen College was the right fit for her. “I know a few of the girls and I know coach (Jenepher) Banker is very dedicated to the program,” said Price. She also added that while she is sad to leave Fredonia after playing for Coach Zirkle for the last four years she is excited for a new challenge and will take a lot of what she learned from her time at Fredonia into her college career. “I learned that if we do lose, to keep my head high,” said Price. “We didn’t have a great regular season (record this past year) but we ended up going very far in the playoffs the past two years. Whatever happens during the season, it can change in the playoffs.” Price plans to study biology at Daemen, with the hope of becoming a marine biologist.
