Lady Cougars take down Pine Valley in three sets

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Cougars knocked out the Pine Valley Panthers at home last night in three sets, 25-9, 25-23, 25-12.

For Cassadaga Valley (1-2, 0-0), Kaitlyn Dahl led the way with 15 assists and three aces, while Heidi Williams had seven kills and three aces, and Meghan LeBarron stuffed the stat sheet with six kills, five digs, three blocks, and two aces.

“Overall, we played well. We hit a couple stretches where it seemed like we lost focus and had trouble finishing, but we were able to regroup and get the win,” said Cassadaga Valley coach Denny Wakelee.

The Pine Valley (2-1, 1-1) attack featured Morgan Sandy putting up seven assists and an ace, while Haley Pillard had four digs, and Sadie Fadale had two digs, two aces, and a kill.

The Cougars are next in action Monday, Sept. 9 where they’ll take on the Dunkirk Marauders. Meanwhile, Pine Valley plays that same day at home against Catt./Little Valley.
