OLEAN — Not often do you see a seventh grader make an instant impact on a varsity sport, but this season, that’s exactly what Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer has done for the Fredonia Lady ‘Billies as a diver on the varsity girls swim team.

On Thursday in Olean, the young Lady ‘Billie left her mark in a big way.

Fredonia seventh grader Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer won the County Diving Championship on Thursday in Olean. Her sister, Alexandra Pucci-Schaefer, finished third overall on Thursday, giving the Lady ‘Billies two of the top three divers in the county.

The rest of the Lady ‘Billies swim team will compete in the swimming portion of the County Championships on Saturday, also in Olean.
