Dunkirk boys, girls bowling teams sweep Chautauqua Lake

FREDONIA — The Dunkirk Marauders defeated the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds in a high school bowling match at Lucky Lanes on Wednesday by a score of 4-0. Dunkirk’s scores were 752-792-722-2,266, while Chautauqua Lake countered with 527-444-510-1,481.

Dunkirk improved its record to 14-14 on the season, behind solid performances from Clayton Bajdas (179, 170), Mathew Woloszyn (169, 161), Mathew Helwig (171), Trevor Skelly (170), and Robert Kozlowski (165).

For Chautauqua Lake, Kris Snyder had games of 131 and 168, while Dominic Gerace-Fox had a 129 game.

The Dunkirk girls also swept Chautauqua Lake by a score of four games to none. Dunkirk’s linescore was 698-650-697-2,045, while Chautauqua Lake countered with a linescore of 406-413-439-1,258.

The Lady Marauders improved to 24-0 on the season while resting all but one starter on Wednesday. “The future of Dunkirk got a chance to shine today,” said Dunkirk coach Donna Kubera.

Tayler Skelly led Dunkirk with a series of 192-161-156-509. Her 192 game was the high game of the match. Summer Clark added a series of 151-127-162-440, while Hannah Rosing had a 370 series, Hayden Cerrie a 369 series and Isabella Begier a 357 series.

The Chautauqua Lake girls, who fell to 0-24 on the year, were led by Haylee Falco with a 303 series.

Fredonia boys beat Jamestown

JAMESTOWN — Fredonia beat Jamestown, 3-1, in boys action while Jamestown returned the favor with a 3-1 victory in girls action during Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 bowling at Jamestown Bowling Company on Wednesday.

In the boys action, Jacob Patterson led the Hillbillies (22-6) with a 205-235-225-665 as they rolled a team linescore of 861-1,078-981-2,920. Sam Kawski added a 209-211-607 and Bryson Kolassa had a 265 game.

Brandon Michael fired a 213-226-625 to lead the Red Raiders (19-5) to a team linescore of 889-991-965-2,845. Riley Piazza added a 244-606 and Kyle Christensen chipped in a 225-206-597.

In the girls match, Emily Ryberg’s 201-527 led Jamestown (14-6) to a team linescore of 598-704-738-2,040. Abbie Derby added a 190-486 and Ashlin Nelson chipped in a 436.

Allie Cook’s 461 led Fredonia (12-12) to a 693-648-693-2,034. Gillian Reed chipped in a 451.

Lady Hornets improve to 23-1 with 4-0 sweep against Silver Creek

FREDONIA — The Silver Creek Black Knights boys bowling team came away with a 4-0 sweep of Forestville on Wednesday at Lucky Lanes in a Section VI high school contest. Silver Creek posted a linescore of 779-791-829-2,399, while Forestville had a linescore of 686-638-686-2,010.

Silver Creek was led by Dan Patterson with games of 197 and 191 in a 561 series. Jeff DeBergalis added a 512 series, while Nate Barlette-Dye had a 202 game.

Tyler Law had a 464 series for Forestville, while Jack Frost had a 432 series and Braden Grubbs had a 177 game for the Hornets.

The Forestville Lady Hornets improved to 23-1 on the season with a 4-0 sweep of Silver Creek on Wednesday at Lucky Lanes. Forestville had a linescore of 626-696-744-2,066, while Silver Creek answered with 550-576-567-1,693.

Forestville’s Lily VanArsdale had games of 223 and 245 to lead all bowlers in the contest with a 625 series. Tristian Olsen added a 204 game and a 562 series score.

Silver Creek’s Leneya Olsen had a 175 game and a 476 series for Silver Creek, while Briana Kenjockety had a 468 series.

Randolph deals Forestville its only loss this season

FREDONIA — The Randolph Cardinals beat the Forestville Hornets on Monday at Lucky Lanes by a score of 4-0. Randolph’s linescore was 786-789-856-2,431, while Forestville countered with 526-611-643-1,780.

Braden Grubbs led Forestville with a 436 series, while Jack Frost had a 406 series. Randolph’s Wyatt Adams led the way with a 201 game and a 548 series, while Kam Finch had a 186 game and 486 series. Wyatt Weaver added a 184 game for the Cardinals.

Monday, the Forestville Lady Hornets’ perfect record came to an end by just one pin in the final game. Still, the Lady Hornets earned a 3-1 win over Randolph. The scores were 627-654-616-1,897 for Forestville and Randolph countered with a linescore of 589-566-617-1,772.

Leading Forestville, Tristian Olsen had a 183 game and a 504 series, while Dakota VanArsdale had a 202 game and Lily VanArsdale had a 188 game.

For Randolph, Alexa Gozdalski had a 180 game and a 494 series, while Hannah Wheeler had a 190 game and a 487 series.
