Swanson ties for 10th at Section VI golf championships
OLEAN — Niagara-Wheatfield senior Anthony Delisanti fashioned a 3-over-par round of 73 in his first 18 holes, and followed that up with a 1-over 36 in the final nine for a total score of 109, winning medalist at the 2021 Section VI Boys Golf Championship on Monday at Bartlett Country Club in Olean.
The Valparaiso-bound Delisanti bested a field of 62 golfers on a challenging golf course that yielded just four rounds under 80 in the initial 18 holes of play.
Southwestern’s Max Vaughn finished with a round of 80 and a final nine of 42 for a 122 total, while Darien Swanson of Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Sherman shot 83-122 as well, as the pair tied for 10th.
In a season with New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships, the two would have played a playoff to determine the qualifier.
