Maple Grove takes over second place
Maple Grove defeated Cassadaga Valley 3-1 to take over sole possession of second place in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 bowling Thursday at Lucky Lanes.
Carter Rishel was the high scorer for Red Dragons with a 193-197-564 to lead Maple Grove (26-10) to a linescore of 748-864-889-2,501. Keegan Rishel added a 193-528, Jacob Wozniak bowled a 180-502 and Brennan Moore (176 game) contributed to the win.
The highlight of the match came in game one when Calvin Hilliker bowled a 279 game for Cassadaga Valley. Other than a 10-pin spare in the eighth frame, Hilliker was perfect setting a school record in the program’s first year. Hilliker also had a 180 game and 606 series to lead the Cougars to a linescore of 749-629-711-2,089. Luke Igersoll added a career-best 157 game.
RED DRAGONS WIN WEDNESDAY
Logan Crist’s 178-182-182-542 led Maple Grove past Forestville 4-0 in Division 2 action Wednesday at Jamestown Bowling Company.
Keegan Rishel added a 178 game and Carter Rishel also had a 178 game for the Red Dragons, who finished with a linescore of 721-772-760-2,253.
Brayden Smith rolled a 201-178-178-557 for the Hornets, who finished with a 678-655-659-1,992.
HORNETS SWEEP
CUTTING — The Forestville Hornets bowling teams swept Chautauqua Lake 4-0 in Division 2 at Cutting Lanes on Thursday.
The boys from Forestville (21-11) rolled 742-698-773 for a 2,213 series to best Chautauqua Lake’s 506-432-493-1,431.
Brayden Smith rolled 161-193-209 for a 563 series to lead the Hornets. Aydon Heim rolled 176-157-151 for a 484 series, Jack Frost had a 153-149 and 430 series, Tyler Waugh had a 170 and 407 series, and Tucker Merrit rolled a 132.
Chautauqua Lake’s (0-40) Robert Head had a 135 game.
The Forestville girls rolled 578-606-593 for a 1,777 series, besting Chautauqua Lake’s 327-386-334 and 1,047 series.
Forestville (16-0) was led by Dakota Vanarsdale with 183-177-183 and a 543 series and Mackenzy Graziano rolled a 154-188-169 for a 511 series.
Chautauqua Lake (1-31) was led by Haylee Falco with a 132 game and 336 series.
