In the boys meet, Michael Strong-Butterfield doubled in the 100 meters (11.1) and the 200 meters (22.7) for the Trojans while teammate Dontae Hoose claimed the shot (41-5) and the discus (110-10).

For Falconer/Cassadaga Valley, Devin Austin doubled in the long jump (20-2) and the triple jump (39-8) and teammate Mathis Baehr won the 110-meter high hurdles (17.4) and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles (1:02.2).

Southwestern is now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the division. The Golden Cougars are 2-1 and 1-1.

Highlighting the Trojans’ win in the girls meet were three wins by Emma Lewis in the 800 meters (2:36.7), the 1,500 meters (5:07.23) and the 3,000 (11:30.1).

HILLBILLIES RACE PAST OLEAN

The Fredonia boys track & field team raised its dual meet record to 3-1 following a 99-33 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association victory over Olean.

Nick Whitfield won three individual events — the 100 meters (11.6), the high jump (5-2) and the triple jump (39-7) — while teammates Lenieth Velez-Olmo and Matt Lotter claimed two apiece. Lenieth Velez-Olmo placed first in the 110-meter high hurdles (19.2) and the 400-meter hurdles (1:12.6), and Lotter captured the discus (96-10) and the shot (37-3).

In the girls meet, Gigi Fero and Ashlyn Ambrose claimed three individual events apiece as Fredonia breezed to an 88-37 victory over Olean.

Ferro captured the 100 meters (14.0), the 200 meters (29.3) and high jump (4-8), and Ambrose won the 1,500 meters (6:08.3), the 800 meters (2:57.7) and the 3,000 meters (13:56.6).

Mariella Russo, Annie Gondek, Ava Hartwig and Julia LeBarron all had fine efforts for the Hillbillies, who outscored the Huskies 71-9 in track events to raise their record to 1-2.

GOWANDA BOYS SPLIT, GIRLS SWEEP

GOWANDA — The Gowanda Panthers boys (1-2, 1-1) track and field team defeated CCAA opponent Cattaraugus-Little Valley 77-20 and lost to nonleague opponent West Valley 64-58.

Gowanda’s Dylen Harbison doubled in the high jump (4-7) and the 110-meter hurdles (19.10); and teammate Noah Vogtli was also a double-winner for the Panthers in the 100 meters (12.10) and the long jump (17-11).

The Panthers’ Ethan Bachek took first in the 200 meters (27.0) in his initial attempt in the event, and Sam Lattimore had a personal best for the Panthers, placing third in shot put.

The Gowanda girls (2-1, 1-1) beat Cattaraugus-Little Valley 62-33 and West Valley 58-34.

Crissa Scanlan was a double winner for Gowanda in the shot (28-1.5, a personal best) and discus (78-7).
