SPRINGVILLE — Yabdiel Clemente Santiago, Gillian Capitano and Vince Prinzbach all went 5-0 as Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek went 5-0 to win the Springville Duals over the weekend.

The Hillbillies beat East Aurora/Holland 53-29, Springville 51-24, Lancaster 51-22, Maryvale 54-27 and Olean/Allegany-Limestone 51-22.

“The whole team is trending in the right direction. We’re kind of slow starters. We do things a little different at the start of the practice season,” Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek head coach Joe Santilli said. “Our philosophy hopefully keeps them fresh for the end of the season.”

Clemente Santiago went 5-0 at 175 pounds, beat East Aurora/Holland’s Blake Staszak with a 20-3 technical fall, pinned Springville’s Kelvin Drake in 56 seconds, earned a 5-0 decision over Lancaster’s Sultan Khalil, pinned Maryvale’s Justin Pew in 1:46 and earned a forfeit against Olean/Allegany-Limestone.

At 190 pounds, Capitano earned a forfeit against East Aurora/Holland, pinned Springville’s Liam Kelley in 48 seconds, pinned Lancaster’s Thomas Skulski in 51 seconds and earned a 10-4 decision over Olean/Allegany-Limestone’s Michael Ellman while also pinning Maryvale’s Samuel Kruger in 1:24 at 215 pounds.

At 285 pounds, Prinzbach won via forfeit against East Aurora/Holland and Springville, pinned Lancaster’s Cole Silvestri in 1:25, pinned Maryvale’s Ethan Kish in 2:23 and pinned Olean/Allegany-Limestone’s Ryker Quattrone in 19 seconds.

Rocco Muscarella went 4-0 at 126 pounds, but lost a match at 118 pounds; Tanner Stern was 4-0 at 118 pounds, but lost a match at 126 pounds; Mayson Simmons was 2-0 at 132 pounds and 2-1 at 138 pounds, with all four victories coming via pin; Owen Anderson was 4-1 at 103 pounds; and Jomar Quiles was 4-1 at 110 pounds.

Owen Kilburn went 3-2 at 165 pounds, but all three of wins came via takedown.

“It was a good day for the guys,” Santilli said. “We had lost to Olean the first week of the season when we were missing a guy or two.”

Fredonia/Forestville/Silver Creek will host Salamanca in a boys-girls doubleheader Wednesday.
