The Westfield Laureate Alpha Pi chapter of the International Beta Sigma Phi sorority celebrated Christmas with a social on Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Westfield YWCA.

Sorority sisters Judi Helman, Laura Ondreako and Carol Best hosted the annual event for sorority sisters and their families with 26 in attendance. The event started with appetizers, punch and socializing followed by President Rose Corbran’s presentation of grace before the guests enjoyed a buffet-style dinner. A delicious ham was the main course provided by the sorority and accompanied by dishes furnished by each sister including a variety of specialty appetizers, meatballs, pasta, salad, beans, potatoes, vegetables and dessert dishes. Clara Winkelman shared her homemade chocolate delicacies with everyone.

Special elves Shelby Begier and Emerson Dodd helped Carol Best give out presents as part of a cheerful gift exchange. Ladies also shared Christmas cards with each other’s family. Laura led the group in singing Christmas carols with Jingle Bell Rock being a big hit and a special original solo, “Starlight” was performed by Elf Emerson Dodd. The joy filled evening closed out with hostesses presenting Christmas decor door prizes.
