Grange history focus of Thursday program in Westfield

WESTFIELD — The history of the National Grange, with a focus on the organization’s first working grange in Fredonia, will be outlined during the Fireside Lecture Series on Thursday at Patterson Library, 40 Portage St. The program, presented by Pamela Brown, begins at 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public. 10th boil water order for Fredonia in last 37 months issued

Fredonia echoes with disgust this morning after yet another boil water order was issued. The terrible shape of the village’s water infrastructure has caught up with it again. A little after 9 a.m., the Village of Fredonia Office of Emergency Management, in coordination with the Village Water Treatment Plant and the County Department of Health, issued the boil order for Fredonia water customers. “High turbidity levels leaving the water treatment plant” was the stated reason for the latest boil order. Dewittville development neighbors argue for court-ordered delay

Neighbors of a proposed $70 million development of the former Point Chautauqua Golf Club are filing arguments in state Supreme Court in advance of April’s oral arguments in state Supreme Court.
