Lakeshore Humane Society Wednesday open adoption hours
The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is welcome to see the dogs and cats in need of loving homes. Opioid victim garden ribbon-cutting
In front of the United Methodist Church, Church Street, Fredonia, noon. The garden, pplanted by executive director of the Children of Opiate Parents and Empowerment (COPE) Foundation 19, Bill Matteson. It contains a plaque that will list names of overdose victims and a sign that explains the purpose of the group and the garden.

Audubon Community Nature Center Enchanted Forest
1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, 6 to 8 p.m. Reservations for this guided walk are required. Walks go out every 10 minutes and last about 40 minutes (sunset is approximately 6:45 p.m.). Non-scary event where talking animals engage the imagination and teach about wildlife in the region. After the walk, backyard snacks and campfire. Crafts, live animals and exhibits available inside the Nature Center. $12 adults, $9 Nature Center members, $6 children 3 to 15, free 2 and under.
