Karen Glosser participating in Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail
North Shore Arts Alliance is a not-for-profit cooperative marketing, promotional, and membership organization working on behalf of artists in Chautauqua County. The organization seeks to foster an environment where art strengthens our County’s image, economic vitality, and quality of life.
To that end, the North Shore Arts Alliance offers juried membership to local artists as well as membership opportunities for individuals and businesses who want to support our efforts to promote and integrate the arts into everyday life in the community.
Its signature event is the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Art Trail, a free open-studio tour in northern Chautauqua County. The Open Studio Tour is May 27 and 28. To see the specific stops, visit http://northshoreartsalliance.com/. The art trail incorporates 22 professional artists whose work represents a variety of media: painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, fiber arts, wood, and mixed media.
One of the artists participating is Karen Glosser.
She states, “As a nature photographer, I feel that my camera is a window through which I view the world. It allows me moments to stop, notice, and explore the incredible richness of wonder that is all around us. My work has led me to memorable places around the world. However, my native Western New York State remains my primary love and focus as I explore and capture the moody waves of Lake Erie, the serene charm of Chautauqua Lake, and the silent peace of the woodlands near my home. I enjoy the challenge of seeing how far I can push my camera to create both traditional and abstract images that reflect a sense of place, and that also portray my vision and feelings of a particular moment as I press the shutter release. J
During the Chautauqua Lake Erie Art Trail on May 27 and 28 she will be showing at the Portage Hill Gallery Art Hub in Westfield.
“Come and explore the wonder of nature, learn about my process and work, and experience the astonishing beauty of our world,” she said.
