Silver Creek Senior Citizens hold meeting

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Tuesday, Aug. 24 with 27 members and guests present. President Ed Newman opened with the pledge to the flag and everyone singing God Bless America. Pauline Flitt read “It Makes a Difference” and offered a prayer for those in Afghanistan, for our members, and for the meal. President Newman then welcomed Cathy Hebb back and visitor Marcia Stevens. Gerry Senior Citizens GERRY — The Gerry Senior Citizens, known as the Rodeo Senior Citizens, gathered recently for a luncheon and a guest speaker from the UCAN City Mission of Jamestown. Jeff Rotunda, executive director of the mission, gave a history and the activities of the mission. The mission, which began in 1942, works with 31 organizations to help men move forward. The purpose is to help men who have been incarcerated, or have mental health problems, or have substance abuse, or are homeless, or have lost their employment. Silver Creek Seniors meet SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Tuesday, Aug. 10 with 34 members and guests present. Pauline Flitt read “God’s Grace” and offered a blessing on those gathered and the food provided. Lunch was ready and hot right at 1 so attendees ate before the Pledge. Delicious corn on the cob, meatball dishes, salads, and desserts were enjoyed by all.
