Silver Creek Senior Citizens meet

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Tuesday, Sept. 7 with 28 members present. Pauline Flitt read “Refresh Yourself” and offered a blessing on the members and food. Earl Sheeler and Harry Suski grilled hot dogs and we enjoyed many salads and desserts. President Ed Newman then opened with the pledge to the flag and everyone singing “My Country Tis of Thee.” Jokes provided by Pauline and Lorrie Newman had everyone laughing. Seniors set upcoming events

The Dunkirk Senior Center will be having a potluck dinner on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Dinner will start at 5 p.m. Those planning to attend should stop in the Center office to sign up and notify what dish they will be making. This event is limited to 75 members. The Center will be having a flea market, bake sale and craft Ssle on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members can contact the Center office to reserve a table. Sheridan Happy Seniors hold final meeting On Friday, Aug. 13, the “Sheridan Happy Seniors” gathered for the last time singing the “Happy Seniors Song.” President Eleanor Lemiszko opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag and everyone singing God Bless America. Chaplin and Activities Director Pauline Flitt offered a blessing for the food about to be eaten and the final meeting. There was plenty of food for everyone. Gerry Senior Citizens GERRY — The Gerry Senior Citizens, known as the Rodeo Senior Citizens, gathered recently for a luncheon and a guest speaker from the UCAN City Mission of Jamestown. Jeff Rotunda, executive director of the mission, gave a history and the activities of the mission. The mission, which began in 1942, works with 31 organizations to help men move forward. The purpose is to help men who have been incarcerated, or have mental health problems, or have substance abuse, or are homeless, or have lost their employment. Silver Creek Seniors meet SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Seniors met on Tuesday, Aug. 10 with 34 members and guests present. Pauline Flitt read “God’s Grace” and offered a blessing on those gathered and the food provided. Lunch was ready and hot right at 1 so attendees ate before the Pledge. Delicious corn on the cob, meatball dishes, salads, and desserts were enjoyed by all.
