Vehicle hits house in Dunkirk

A vehicle rattled the rafters today when it struck a home on the corner of West Doughty and Lincoln Streets on Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene. There was very minor damage, and no reported injuries, according to Sgt. Daniel Manzella of the Dunkirk Police Department. Police said no charges have been placed yet but the investigation is continuing.

¯ ELLERY — Kara R. Morris, 27, of Panama, was charged with several offenses Monday at about 9 p.m. According to reports, she had been driving in the wrong direction on a one-way road, and when deputies stopped her vehicle to investigate, they found that she was intoxicated. She was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, driving wrong way on a one-way street and unregistered motor vehicle. She will answer these in Ellery Town Court.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — Michael S. Gibbons, 46, of French Creek, was charged with several offenses Sunday at about 1:30 a.m. Allegedly, he had failed to stop at a stop sign on Griffin Road, and when deputies stopped Gibbons’s vehicle to investigate, they found that he was intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to stop at a stop sign and unregistered motor vehicle. He will answer for his actions in French Creek Town Court.

¯ SHERIDAN — Jeffrey T. Jamison, 30, of Fredonia, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speed in zone on Feb. 5 at about 2 a.m. Allegedly, Jamison had been speeding on Route 20, and when deputies stopped his vehicle and identified him as the driver, Jamison was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and will answer for himself in Sheridan Town Court.

¯ SHERIDAN — Janetta L. Jenner, 33, of Silver Creek, was taken into custody Monday at about 9 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding. According to police, Jenner had been speeding on Route 20, and when deputies stopped her vehicle, they ascertained that she was intoxicated. She will answer her charges in Sheridan Town Court.

¯ SHERIDAN — Jason E. Hooper, 41, of Eden, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, speeding and moving from lane unsafely Feb. 11 shortly before 9 p.m. According to reports, deputies stopped his vehicle for traffic violations on Route 20, at which time they conducted an investigation and found Hooper to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and will answer his charges in Sheridan Town Court.

¯ CLYMER — David L. Lindsey, 51, of Corry, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody Monday at about 11 a.m. and charged with speeding in zone and aggravated unlicensed operation. Allegedly, Lindsey was stopped for speeding on Route 474 and a check of his driver’s license revealed that his driving privileges in New York had been suspended due to failing to appear for court in the past. He was arraigned in Clymer Town Court and taken to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. He will appear again in Clymer Town Court at a later date to answer all of his charges.

¯ FALCONER — Jason Dustin, 44, of Kennedy was charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child on Saturday.

Dustin was pulled over on West Main Street in Falconer for an observed traffic violation, and after allegedly failing several standard field sobriety tests, he was placed under arrest. Two children under the ages of 16 were in his vehicle at the time of the traffic stop and were turned over to a family member who responded to the scene. Dustin was transported to State Police Jamestown, where troopers said he provided a breath sample of .12 percent. Dustin was then processed, issued appearance and traffic tickets returnable to Ellicott Town Court and released. Dustin is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court next month to answer the charges.

¯ STEAMBURG — Mary Butler, 58, of Gerry was charged with third-degree criminal mischief on Monday.

It is alleged that while at a private residence in Steamburg following an argument with other individuals at the location, Butler intentionally scratched a 2011 Toyota with a rock, causing more than $250 in damage. She was arrested and processed at State Police Jamestown. Butler was then arraigned in Cold Spring Town Court and sent to the Cattaraugus County Jail.

¯ ELLICOTT — Jennifer Rager, 40, of Williamsport, PA was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated on Sunday.

Troopers responded to I-86 in Ellicott for a report of a vehicle that was driving east in an erratic manner. The Troopers located and pulled over the suspect vehicle. The driver was subsequently identified as Rager. Rager was placed under arrest after allegedly failing multiple standard field sobriety tests. She was transported to State Police Jamestown, where troopers said she provided a breath sample of .25 percent. Rager was then processed, issued tickets returnable to Ellicott Town Court and released. Rager is scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court next month.
