Westfield Police Department

≤ On April 1 at roughly 5:09 p.m., officers were called to the area of West Main Street, after a female victim reported a domestic incident. The victim alleged that her boyfriend, Adam J. Abriatis, 41, of Westfield, held a razor knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Abriatis was later located and reportedly found to be in possession of Suboxone strips and marijuana. Abriatis was taken into custody and charged with second-degree menacing, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Abriatis was held for arraignment. Westfield Police were assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office during this incident.

≤ On April 2 at about 9 a.m., Richard A. Conway Jr., 39, of Westfield, was arrested for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, after an investigation into a larceny that occurred on or around March 3 in Westfield. It is alleged that Conway took property from a residence on North Portage Street and withheld it without permission. Conway was issued appearance tickets and will answer his charges in Village of Westfield Court at a later date.

BEMUS POINT — On April 2, troopers received a complaint of a male drinking whiskey in the parking lot of a local business. Troopers located the suspected vehicle and pulled it over for committing an alleged traffic violation on Dutch Hollow Road. The driver, Daniel Weilacher, 60, of Jamestown, was placed under arrest after failing several SFSTs. He was then transported to State Police Jamestown, where he provided a breath sample of .09. As Weilacher’s driving record revealed a DWI conviction within the preceding 10 years and subsequent license revocation, the charge was upgraded to a felony. Weilacher was charged with felony DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Weilacher was then processed and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

≤ JAMESTOWN — On April 3, troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-86 for speeding. While speaking to the driver, Dylan Hoopsick, 26, of Erie, PA, troopers allegedly smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of Hoopsick and the vehicle revealed the following items: a bag containing approximately eight grams of cocaine, an unmarked bottle containing adderal pills, an electronic smoking device containing THC oil and a bottle containing approximately 28 grams of marijuana. Hoopsick was placed under arrest and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Hoopsick was processed at State Police Jamestown and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail.

≤ STOW — On April 4, troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-86 for allegedly speeding. The driver, Andrew Lowe, 30, of Cattaraugus, was placed under arrest after failing several SFSTs. During the traffic stop, Lowe was found to be in possession of a bottle containing a small amount of marijuana and a pipe containing marijuana residue. Lowe was transported to State Police Jamestown, where he was evaluated by a Chautauqua County Drug Recognition Expert who determined that Lowe was under the influence of marijuana and cocaine. Lowe was processed and a urine sample was obtained. Lowe was charged with DWAI-drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana. After processing, Lowe was released with appearance tickets, traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the town of North Harmony Court later in the month.

≤ SHERIDAN — On April 3 at around 9:12 p.m., deputies conducted a vehicle stop on Center Road for a traffic violation. A passenger in the vehicle was allegedly identified as Lamont E. Brown, 33, of Fredonia. Brown had a valid arrest warrant out of the Village of Silver Creek Court for fourth-degree criminal mischief. Brown was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned.

≤ RIPLEY — On April 4 at about 9:43 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 20 for a traffic violation. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the driver, Zachary D. Mota, 25, of Ripley, was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Mota was taken into custody and charged with DWI, DWI with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more, no/inadequate headlights and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. Mota was later released with tickets to appear in Ripley Town Court at a later date.
