¯ FRENCH CREEK — Ken M. Sobey, 45, of Olmstead Falls, Ohio, was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and no/inadequate lights. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 10:24 p.m. Saturday in the town of French Creek for an alleged traffic violation. An investigation found that Sobey was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Mina Town Court later.

¯ ELLERY — Richard C. Backert, 60, of Lancaster, Pa., was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, speed over 55 zone and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies stopped a vehicle at 8:52 p.m. on Route 430 in the town of Ellery. An investigation found that Backert was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for processing and is scheduled to appear in Ellery Town Court later.
