CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— NORTH HARMONY — A Lakewood man is facing charges after taking a dangerous ride that put a number of motorists at risk.

At about 10:47 p.m. Friday, Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle complaint on Route 394. Through an investigation, it is alleged that Joshua J. Anderson, 39, recklessly endangered multiple individuals through his actions while operating a motor vehicle and intentionally backing his vehicle into another multiple times that caused vehicle and property damage.

Anderson was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangerment of property, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, unsafe backing, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and moving from lane unsafely.

He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

— HANOVER — At about 7:13 p.m. Saturday, patrols made a vehicle and traffic stop. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Chauncey J. George, 36, of Salamenca. Upon further investigation it was determined that Chauncey was driving while intoxicated. Chauncey also had a previous suspension on his license for driving while impaired.

— WESTFIELD — Edward A. Wood, 52, of Westfield was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on May 17 in the town. It is alleged that Wood did subject another individual to unwanted physical contact.
