CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
— HANOVER — A 19-year-old Fredonia resident is facing charges after an early morning physical altercation.
Around 4 a.m. Tuesday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident. After an investigation it was determined that Nathan J. Hamm had assaulted two individuals and broken property. Hamm was located and taken into custody after being charged with two counts of third-degree assault, two counts of third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief, menacing and petit larceny.
He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail pending centralized arraignment and will return to the town of Hanover court later.
— BUSTI — Wood stove piping is being blamed in a Sunday evening blaze.
At 11:14 p.m., a structure fire was reported at 1619 Forest Ave. Ext. Busti Fire Department along with several mutual aid departments responded to tend to the fire. The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was requested to conduct an origin and cause investigation. Through interviews and investigation it is believed that the fire started in or around the wood stove piping. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
