SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— ALLEGANY — A Jamestown man is facing second-degree burglary, petit larceny and two counts of second-degree attempted burglary after an incident at 3 p.m. Monday.

Deputies allege Marcus A. Norman, 55, was involved in two separate burglaries on the St. Bonaventure campus and a residence in the village on Dec. 2, 2023 and March 17. At the St. Bonaventure, he entered the home and stole property belonging to individuals. He entered the second residence and those inside led to him quickly scamper away.

In March, Norman returned to the same residence and was once again seen by residents and was chased a short distance. No injuries were reported and Norman was taken into custody and will be in town court later.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

— At around 2:47 a.m. Sunday, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office investigated a vehicle that went off the road and was disabled when attempting to drive on a set of abandoned railroad tracks off Vineyard Drive in the town of Dunkirk.

Through an investigation, the operator of the vehicle, Sara J. Kelemen, 25, of Fredonia, was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and failure to keep right. Kelemen was released and was to return to town court.
