Dunkirk fire blamed on electric malfunction Investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department said a fire early Friday in the city of Dunkirk originated on the exterior of the residence as a result of a malfunctioning electrical service entrance cable. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Richard A. Goodman III, 40, of Jamestown, was charged with resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. According to police, at about 10:16 a.m., officers responded to a downtown business for a report of an unwanted male. It was determined that Goodman allegedly refused to leave, and was screaming in the lobby. Officers attempted to escort Goodman off the property, and at that point, he allegedly became combative. A Dunkirk man is facing multiple vehicle and traffic violations after leading police on a pursuit while driving an all-terrain vehicle. Around 7:12 p.m. March 29, a Dunkirk police officer observed an ATV recklessly and illegally operating on a public highway in the area of Lake Shore Drive East. Officers attempted to stop the ATV, however, the operator failed to comply, leading officers on a pursuit.
