JAMESTOWN POLICE - Joseph Helms, 43, and Cody Reichenbach, 31, both of Jamestown, were charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, possession of burglar's tools, and third-degree criminal tampering at 1:11 p.m. Tuesday after officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a north side address. Dunkirk police didn’t have to travel far for an Independence Day drug arrest: The incident literally started on their doorstep. Around 7:56 p.m., when police were focused on managing the throngs of people arriving for the fireworks display, officers got called to their Fourth Street headquarters for a domestic dispute going on outside. When officers arrived, a male subject fled on foot, but was taken into custody after a brief pursuit. Village of Mayville hires code officer

MAYVILLE – Village leaders are moving ahead with their own code enforcement. It was announced that the Mayville Village Board hired Daniel Delcamp of Mayville as a part-time code enforcement officer at a rate of $28 an hour. His appointment took effect Monday, July 14. He also is the code officer for Cassadaga. According to Trustee Mark Perry, the village has budgeted him for 19.5 hours a week.
