Fredonia yard waste collection underway
The Village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste beginning Monday, June 7, at 7 a.m. and continuing until every village street has been completed.
Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. Monday. In no case will there be repeat collection of areas completed.
All yard waste must be bagged or in barrels. Village officials encourage residents to use biodegradable bags or barrels; all limbs and brush must be tied with twine. Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than four feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight.
There is no collection of loose material. No loose leaves will be picked up.
Residents are reminded that they can bring yard waste to 176 Eagle St. No bags or containers shall be left behind.
Dunkirk Legion Auxiliary news
On Tuesday is the Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Auxiliary Unit 62 Monthly meeting and Installation of Unit Officers at 7 p.m. at Post 62, 211 Central Ave. Auxiliary members are encouraged to attend.
On Thursday is the Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting and Installation of County Officers at 7 p.m. at Dunkirk American Legion Post 62, 211 Central Ave.

The Dunkirk Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Ruggles Street and Cliffstar Court at the Dunkirk Senior Center. It features local farmers and artisans.

Mayville’s Farmers Market
The Mayville Farmer’s and Artisan’s Market is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayville Village Park, at the traffic light at Route 394 and Route 430, Mayville. It features farmers and artisans, with special events TBA.

Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society indoor rummage sale
The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society will host an indoor flea market from 9 a.m. to noon at the Parish Social Center, 324 Townsend St., Dunkirk. Masks MUST be worn. Social distancing will be practiced. For details, call Tony at 467-0891.
