Dunkirk Farmers’ Market

The Dunkirk Farmers’ Market is held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the corner of Ruggles Street and Cliffstar Court at the Dunkirk Senior Center. It features local farmers and artisans.

ConnectLife blood drive

Brooks-TLC Hospital System, Inc. in collaboration with ConnectLife, will host a blood drive in the main lobby at 529 Central Ave., Dunkirk from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Visit ConnectLifeGiveBlood.org and use sponsor code 000447. Donors will receive a $5 Tops gift card and eligibility for a $50 gift card to Harvest View Greenhouses. 100% of blood collected remains in Western New York area.

City of Dunkirk “Summer Better Than Others Day Camp” registrations

City of Dunkirk parents can sign up children who have graduated from kindergarten (ages 5 through 11) for a week of summer day camp at Camp Gross in Cassadaga. There are six sessions of recreational, athletic and educational experiences available for the weeks from July 12 ending Aug. 13. Youth to staff ratio is 6:1 and lower for waterfront activities. Children may be signed up for a maximum of two weeks. Children will be picked up and dropped off by bus at five designated locations in Dunkirk. The cost for one week of camp for City of Dunkirk residents is $40 per child, with every additional child in the family at $30 per child. Junior Camp Counselors ages 12 to 15 years are free. Registration will take place at the James Murphy Volunteer Fireman’s Training Grounds Conference Building, 665 Brigham Road, Dunkirk this week from 1 to 4 p.m. Registration for non-city residents will take place June 28 at a cost of $50 first child/$35 other children in the family.

Red Cross Blood Drive

The United Way is sponsoring a a Red Cross blood drive at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds in the Ag & Expo building from 2 to 7 p.m. For eligibility information or to make an appointment, call 1-800-733-2767. Walk-ins will be take when there are openings.

Prevention Works Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue

Prevention Works will hold its annual chicken barbecue fund-raiser from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St., Fredonia. The event is pick up only. The $12 per dinner cost includes a half chicken, two sides and a roll with butter. Tickets can be purchased at Prevention Works, 186 Lake Shore Drive W., Dunkirk or at the event.

Wells Community Event and Job Fair

Wells Food Corporation will hold a job fair and community event to celebrate National Bomb Pop Day at the Clarion Hotel Pavilion, 30 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Apply, interview and get a job offer in one spot. Stop by for free ice cream.

Mayville’s Farmers’ Market

Mayville Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market is held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mayville Village Park, at the traffic light at Route 394 and Route 430, Mayville. It features farmers and artisans, with special events TBA.

Fr. Sean Duggan all-Bach concert

The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will present Fr. Sean Duggan in an all-Bach keyboard concert streamed in real time from the Opera House at 7:30 p.m. Pieces include the Goldberg Variations and the Chromatic Fantasie & Fuge in D minor, BWV 903. Admission is by pay-what-you-will donation at tinyurl.com/ybax3zxa. Mention the concert when making the donation. A link to the live stream will be published on Opera House social media.
