Perrysburg slates special meeting

PERRYSBURG — The Town of Perrysburg will hold a Special Town Board meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Perrysburg Town Hall, 10460 Peck Hill Road. The purpose of this meeting is the presentation of the 2022 tentative budget to the Town Board. All meetings are open to the public.

Fredonia pinochle scores announced

Fredonia Beaver Club pinochle scores for recent weeks have been announced. They include:

¯ Sept. 2 — Betty Donovan, 544; Fran Sullivan, 534; Donna Nickerson, 530; Irene Richardson, Double Pinochle and peanuts.

¯ Sept. 6 — Nancy Mosier, 497; Gene Pauszek, 482; Lucy Saeli, 481.

¯ Sept. 9 — Fran Sullivan, 527; Barb Smith, 509; Ron Conover, 488; Betty Donovan, peanuts.

¯ Sept.16 — Ron Conover, 493; Betty Donovan, 473; Lucy Saeli, 457; Double Pinochle, Betty Donovan.

NRA Foundation awards funds to Westfield Police

WESTFIELD — The NRA Foundation has awarded the Westfield Police Department a grant totaling $432 to fund supplies for firearms training. The Village of Westfield and the Police Department are very grateful for this financial support and pleased that the NRA is making an investment in our community.”

The Westfield Police Department conducts multiple department training programs to support the officers and the community it serves.

The members of the Westfield Police Department, in partnership with our community, are dedicated to improving the quality of life by protecting lives and property, enforcing the laws of the State of New York and the United States Constitution, securing offenders, and responding to the needs of the people.

Can drive slated

for Saturday

Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society will be holding a can and bottle drive on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the St. Hedwig Roberts Road parking lot. This is the perfect opportunity to get rid of all those extra water bottles you may have from the city. You don’t have any cans or bottles this month, that’s OK, stop by for some free coffee and doughnuts.

Villenova Grange pancake brunch planned for Oct. 3

The Villenova Grange will be hosting a pancake brunch on Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Villenova Grange – Balcom’s Corners, Routes 83 and 322. The costs are $7 small or $8 large. For more information contact Martha Woolley at 965-4292.

Steel retirees set monthly meeting

Al Tech, Dunkirk Specialty Steel retirees will hold its monthly breakfast meeting Saturday, Oct. 2 and the first Saturday of every month, at 8:30 a.m. at Demetri’s Restaurant, Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk.
