Poinsettia sale underway to

benefit club

A poinsettia sale is taking place to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County. The 6-inch plants are available in white, red, pink and marble and are $12 each. To place an order, call or text 716-698-2934. The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County serves more than 600 youth annually across the region. It is a United Way agency.

Christmas lighting contest

The town of Stockton is hosting a community Christmas lighting contest. Applications are available at the Stockton and Cassadaga libraries and the town clerk’s office, and should be returned by 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. Applications can also be entered by calling the clerk’s office at 716-595-3192 ext. 1, by email at willsm@netsync.net, or dropped off at the Stockton Town Hall or the Stockton, Cassadaga library buildings.

3-D printing basics class to be offered

SILVER CREEK — Anderson-Lee Library will host an information session about the basics of 3-D Printing on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. This class for all ages will cover what a 3-D printer is and the kinds of objects you can print. It’s great for more than just toys! Come see the printer in action and learn about how you can use this printer for any projects you can think of! In addition, all who attend the class will have a chance to win a Galaxy Tab A Tablet!

St. Rose Society cookie sale begins

Now that the holidays are underway, the ladies of the St. Rose Society have their plans to bake your favorite Christmas cookies that you can purchase.

Members of both churches of the community of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish come together for a little fun, along with a lot of work, to present these festive, edible gifts.

Orders are now being taken for one size cookie tray that will be available on Saturday, Dec 17. The cookies will be baked earlier that week and will consist of decorated cutouts, press cookies and many more varieties that will be wrapped for gift-fiving or for your own pleasure.

The cost for a tray of approximately 50 cookies is $25 and a separate tray of freshly made Cucidatti (Italian fig cookies) also wrapped for gift-giving, are available for $16 per pound.

To order cookie trays, call or text Teresa Edwards at (716) 316-9821 or Aimee Rogers at (716) 870-5087 by Dec 11. Any orders placed after Dec. 11 will be put on a waiting list of which we will not be able to guaranteed that the order will be able to be filled, so place your order early!

Pick up is Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Church Hall, 11 Center St., Forestville.

The St. Rose Society is not only well-known for their cookies and dinners but more importantly their mission work in the community and in other countries.

The proceeds of this cookie sale will enable the ladies to continue their work which include donating to the food pantries of Forestville and Silver Creek, the St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center, helping needy families in the community, missions in Latin America plus other needs in the parishes.
