Eason Hall front entrance closed for painting WESTFIELD – The Eason Hall front entrance will have to be closed for painting on Thursday, Oct. 31 and Friday, Nov. 1. The village is encouraging people to pay online or use the side handicap entrance if they must come into the building for whatever reason. Rec department plans Halloween event The city of Dunkirk Youth and Recreation Department will be hosting a Halloween event from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Trick-or-Treating will take place outside between Central Station Restaurant and the Stearns Building. Inside the Stearns Building, Halloween movies, arts and crafts, and refreshments will take place. Kids of all ages are welcome and should wear their best costume. Trunk or Treat event is Saturday in village The village of Fredonia/town of Pomfret Recreation Department is hosting a Trunk or Treat taking place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Russell Joy Park. Foliage update offered by state Gorgeous peak foliage will be arriving throughout much of the Thousand Islands-Seaway, Greater Niagara, Finger Lakes and Hudson Valley regions this weekend, while near-peak colors will be found throughout much of Long Island, and New York City will mostly see a mix of early to midpoint change.
