Blessing of Pets is Sunday All pets are welcome to attend the Blessing of the Pets in honor of St. Francis. The blessing will take place on Sunday, Oct. 1 outside the front door of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church on 14 W. Fourth St. in Dunkirk at 12:30 p.m., after the 11 a.m. service. St. Francis is well-known for having renounced his father’s wealth and all earthly possessions.
