Democrat Peter Gibson endorsed for Hanover Town Council

HANOVER — The Hanover Democratic committee has recently endorsed Peter Gibson for a seat on the Hanover Town Board.

Gibson, a native Western New Yorker and longtime resident of the town of Hanover, currently residing on Hopper Road with his wife, Julie, and their children, whom attend Forestville Central School.

He is an avid hunter and gardener. He is a Navy Reserve veteran and has a degree in political science from Buffalo State College.

Gibson has served many years on the Hanover Planning Board and currently serves as its chairman. He works as a supervisor for a commercial construction company at various sites throughout Western New York.

Gibson believes the town of Hanover needs to continue to consolidate government and to share services with other municipalities wherever possible. He believes this could provide much-needed property tax relief.

He plans to focus on promoting tourism and the many recreational opportunities available in the town of Hanover. They include great fishing in Lake Erie and its tributaries, many miles of accessible snowmobile trails, great beaches and wonderful restaurants.

He also believes that for the town to grow, it needs to ensure that services, utilities and amenities are present to make living in the town attractive to new residents.

“It’s a great place to live, and if the population grows, commercial development will follow,” he said.
