Tim Graham to speak during conference at Fredonia State

The Society of Professional Journalists, Fredonia Chapter, will hold its annual conference at the Williams Center, SUNY Fredonia, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 3

Tim Graham, senior writer for The Athletic, Buffalo, will be the keynote speaker.

Graham, who has worked for the Buffalo News, ESPN, the Palm Beach Post and Las Vegas Sun, will be talking about changes in the journalism landscape in recent years. In addition to his reporting for The Athletic, the sports-centric online platform that has been expanding wildly over the past year, Graham also had worked on radio and TV sports shows. He’s best known for his long-form pieces, which include notable Buffalo News pieces on Darryl Talley (revealing his struggles with CTE) and his Athletic story on Kyle Okposo.

Also speaking will be:

¯ Ed Drantch: I-Team investigative reporter for WKBW-TV (Channel 7) in Buffalo.

¯ Christy Kern: Anchor for WIVB/WNLO-TV (Channel 4) in Buffalo.

¯ Dan Palmer: Long-time radio host and game broadcaster (over 2,000) for WDOE/WKIX in Dunkirk.

¯ D.L. Webster: Longtime TV photographer (aka videographer) in Buffalo TV news for WKBW-TV and Spectrum.

The event is free and open to the general public as well as students.
