MAYVILLE — Some changes have been made for those who rent the facilities at Lakeside Park.

During the Mavyille Village Board meeting, officials updated the Lakeside Park Facility Rental/Usage Policy.

The policy now states the gazebo is provided on a first come, first serve basis and needs no reservation, but may be reserved in advance for special events.

Also, the open air pavilion which seats 112 people is provided on a first come, first serve basis and needs no reservation, but may be reserved in advance for special events.

No changes were made to the policy for picnic tables, patio, Carlson Community Center Hall or the picnic pavilion. The hall and pavilion have always required reservations, while the patio is first come, first serve, but can be reserved in advance. No reservations are accepted for the picnic tables or grills.

Because of COVID-19, all facilities are limited to no more than 50 people at any time.

Cost is $100 per day, excluding select non-profits or governmental agencies. Commercial entities that use the facilities for commercial purposes are charged $1,500 per day rental. The newly revised policy requires payment in advance to receiving a facility key.

The resolution for the changes was unanimously adopted.

¯ The Mavyille Village Board passed a resolution in support of a county ambulance service. Trustee Sun Ray Eagle Harrington voted against the resolution. He declined to say why he voted against it. Volunteer firefighters in attendance said this resolution would not negatively affect Mayville’s ambulance service and voiced their support. No changes are expected as a result of the resolution.

¯ It was announced the village has received about $12,000 less in revenue for its water, due to the school and the county buildings being shut down earlier this year.

¯ The village received applications for three special use permits. One is to allow retail sales of firearms and accessories at 120 E. Chautauqua St. The other two are to construct 6 foot high fences, one at 53 S. Erie St. and one at 6 Pratt St.

Starting at $3.50/week.
