The Memorial Day Service and Parade will assemble Monday. Services will begin at 10 a.m. in Memorial Park on Lake Shore Drive West and will be conducted by the participating organizations of the Dunkirk Joint Veterans Council.

The 2022 Parade Marshal is Ryan Hall, City of Dunkirk Festivals and Special Events Director.

The 2022 Master of Ceremonies is Mr. John D’Agostino, DJVC and Editor, Dunkirk OBSERVER and The Post-Journal.

The 2022 Parade Commentator is Mr. David Rowley, News Director, WDOE Radio.

The 2022 Grand Marshal is Mr. Hoyt Prince World War II Army Veteran.

Presenter of the 2022 Grand Marshal Plaque is Jack Hood, DJVC Adjutant. Presented to Mr. Hoyt Prince World War II Army Veteran.

Principal speaker for this year’s Memorial Day Service is Cdr. George Burns III, USCG ( Ret.)

Principal Guest Speaker for this year’s Memorial Day Service 1SG. Xavier Whitehead JROTC

The Memorial Day Parade will start at 11 a.m. and proceed East on Lake Shore Drive West to Central Avenue. The Parade will turn onto Central Avenue and proceed South to Fifth Street. The Parade turns East on Fifth Street and disbands at Washington Park.

In case of inclement weather, the parade may be delayed or canceled. Memorial Day Services will be at V.F.W. John T. Murray Post 1017, 113 Second St. Dunkirk.

The 2022 Parade Division Marshals are as Follows:

Division Marshal Captain – Mr. Ryan Hall, City of Dunkirk Festivals and Special Events Director

1st Division Marshal – Mr. Evon Hernandez, Dunkirk Festivals

2nd Division Marshal – Mr. Scott Mekus, Dunkirk Festivals

3rd Division Marshal – Mr. Tanis Moore, Dunkirk Festivals

4th Division Marshal – Mr. Michael Edwards, City of Dunkirk Fire Chief
