Reading winners named by library for summer program

SILVER CREEK — The Anderson-Lee Library, 43 Main St., Silver Creek has named the winners of its summer reading program grand prizes.

The program, called “Tales and Tails,” challenged readers from birth to age 17 to read or be read to at least 15 minutes a day for 33 days. Those who read for six out of seven days per week qualified for a free book. Those who read for all 33 days were entered into a drawing for a grand prize for their age group. Adults age 18 and older had a Bingo sheet with challenges to complete. For each completed Bingo the adults earned a gift certificate to the Friends of the Library’s used book sale room and an entry for a grand prize gift basket. The following are the grand prize winners:

¯ Ages 13-17, $25 Ellie’s Deli Gift Card: Julianna Smith

¯ Ages 9-12, Scooter: Everett Dix

¯ Ages 5-8, Scooter: Owen Raczka

¯ Birth-4, Private Play Party at Just My Imagination Workshop: Charlotte Parkhurst

Forty-one adults and 85 children from birth to 17 years of age signed up for the summer reading program.
