Thirty years ago — 1994

Every Sunday afternoon at the Ed Egan Little League Complex on Clinton Avenue in Fredonia, boys and girls ages 7 to 21 who are physically challenged play ball in the Challenger League. The kids have fun and no score is kept. Begun locally in 1991 by Ben Cerrie, the Little League district administrator for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Allegany counties, the Challenger League welcomes any handicapped child from the area to join in the games. The program is sponsored by the Moose Lodge and Fredonia Little League, so no fees are charged.
