NFL honor: Reed finally gets his due

It was worth the wait for Andre Reed.

The greatest wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills found out Saturday evening that he was selected as a member of the 2014 class for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “What can I say? There are so many things, emotions right now,” Reed told Buffalobills.com. “I want to thank the Bills, the organization, the fans for all the support I had over the years.”

Though he played with the team from 1985 to 1998 and provided many highlights, one of his greatest games was probably the franchise’s greatest game as well. Reed caught three touchdown passes against the Houston Oilers in the famous comeback win, 41-38 in overtime.

Reed also was a favorite in Fredonia when the Bills’ held summer training camp annually at the State University of New York campus.

Many Bills’ greats were a part of Chautauqua County summers. Another, rightly so, is headed to Canton this summer.
