Dunkirk falls to Lancaster in opener, 54-23
LANCASTER — The Dunkirk Marauders boys basketball team kicked off their season at the Lancaster Tournament on Wednesday, but found themselves on the losing end, dropping the contest to Lancaster, 54-23.
The Marauders were led by Earl Stewart with 11 points while Tywon Wright chipped in with seven points of his own.
“We started out okay, but they made a couple threes and went on a couple runs,” said Dunkirk assistant coach Joe Pucciarelli. “We got behind by the half and it was tough from there.”
Dunkirk (0-1) will come back to the Lancaster tournament on Friday where they’ll face Cleveland Hill to look to get back on track.
