Pucci-Schaefer sets diving mark at Olean Middle School
OLEAN — Fredonia’s Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer set an Olean Middle School pool six-dive record, but the Hillbillies fell to Olean, 107-77, in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls swimming action Thursday.
Pucci-Schaeffer finished with a score of 270.65 points, to win the 1-meter diving competition by more than 35 points than the second-place competitor.
Tori Spacciapolli won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.73) and Abby Roth captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:32.60) for the Hillbillies.
Alexis Trietley hit state-qualifying times while winning the 50-yard freestyle (24.29) and 100-yard freestyle (53.60) for the Huskies.
Megan Jackson was also a double winner for Olean, winning the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.

SW/JAMESTOWN PREVAILS
The combined Southwestern/Jamestown swimming team won its opener Thursday with a 137-48 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association victory over Allegany-Limestone.
Southwestern/Jamestown took first and second place in the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays as well as first and third in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Morgan Faulk was a double winner in the 200-yard freestyle (2:17.49) and 500-yard freestyle (6:12.08); Lindsey Spitz captured the 200-yard individual medley (2:37.98) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.51); and Isabella Grijalva claimed the 50-yard freestyle (26.14) and 100-yard freestyle (59.0) for the hosts.
