Dunkirk boys take second in Division II, Class C

CHEEKTOWAGA — Maryvale ran away with the Section VI Division II boys bowling crown Tuesday at Airport Lanes.
Dunkirk had to settle for second place.
The Flyers, buoyed by an opening-game perfect game from individual champion Aidan Longo, finished with a six-game team series of 1,048-1,117-1,110-985-1,087-1,138-6,485 to capture the overall title, Division II title and Class C title.
The Marauders finished more than 500 pins back with a 976-872-975-1,029-1,074-987-5,913 to take second in both Division II and Class C.
Jaxson Pencek led Dunkirk with a 222-183-178-223-256-189-1,251 while Robert Kozlowski was 10 pins back with a 201-213-181-236-200-210-1,241. Ten pins behind Kozlowski was Matthew Woloszyn with a 214-159-213-237-174-234-1,231 and Clayton Bajdas had a 202-178-188-173-213-172-1,126. Devin Farrington, Bryan Thurston and Thomas Shaffer combined as the Marauders’ fifth man.
Jamestown finished sixth in Class A and seventh in Division I with an 871-979-937-951-1,071-1,060-5,869.
Hayden Walker’s 201-201-202-216-223-242-1,285 led the Red Raiders and placed him 19th overall, while Colton Cappalino had a 170-222-184-203-254-202-1,235.
Zach Ryberg rolled a 167-204-157-186-223-205-1,142, Vincent Parasiliti had a 165-201-190-176-187-216-1,135 and Jack Christensen spilled a 168-151-204-170-184-195-1,072.
Salamanca finished second in Class D and fourth in Division II, just 35 pins behind first-place JFK’s 834-989-978-931-934-975-5,641. The Warriors turned in a 1,000-883-1,079-887-854-903-5,606.
Quinton Jones, the top CCAA individual finisher in ninth place, led Salamanca with a 236-191-257-217-212-216-1,329 and Corey Gebauer had a 210-202-255-179-193-190-1,229. Cole Urbanski turned in a 159-161-191-157-157-233-1,058 and Jonathan Wiltsie had a 193-146-230-159-146-153-1,027. Dekkyn Krantz and Mitchel Schnaufer split fifth-man duties.
Falconer was third in Class D and sixth in Division II with a 958-897-846-921-883-938-5,443.
Damen Vincent led the Golden Falcons with a 230-222-153-181-185-194-1,165 and Nic Houston had a 189-193-203-181-180-213-1,159. Erik Stenstrum, Javier Gonzales, Brayden Scott, Josiah Sprague and Gabe Delahoy made up the rest of Falconer’s team with Gonzales throwing the high game with a 224.
Fredonia was fifth in Class C and eighth in Division II with a 907-913-962-909-858-858-5,407.
Brady Helmer led the Hillbillies with a 191-180-188-203-212-157-1,131, Nate Manzella had a 178-205-217-204-170-151-1,125, Zach Kawski rolled a 202-195-161-204-157-205 and Sam Kawski spilled a 177-173-174-143-191-201-1,059. Kyle Berkshire and Owen Rush combined for the remainder of Fredonia’s scoring.
Cassadaga Valley was fourth in Class D and ninth in Division II with a 785-886-866-929-838-882-5,186.
Calvin Hilliker led the Cougars with a 164-188-194-212-193-149 while high games were turned in by: Matthew Helwig (235, 213), Kristin Wise (224) and Hayden Carr (210).
Frewsburg was fifth in Class D and 10th in Division II with a 880-860-875-843-795-885-5,138.
Erich Thompson led the Bears with a 159-202-244-169-168-211-1,153, Matthew Thompson had a 195-189-160-174-168-192-1,078 and Caden Harvey spun a 180-151-201-220-144-154-1,050. Ontario Endress and Collin Kehrli threw a 933 and a 924 series, respectively.
Maple Grove was seventh in Class D and 12th in Division II with a 782-832-849-786-878-912-5,039.
Logan Crist paced the Red Dragons with a 138-223-192-195-208-234-1,190, Adam Brisky had a 199-149-162-164-234-182-1,090 and Keegan Rishel spilled a 206-181-202-139-148-179-1,055. Carter Rishel and Brennan Moore threw an 893 and an 811 series, respectively.
Forestville was eighth in Class D and 14th in Division II with a 758-841-761-837-831-870-4,898.
The Hornets were led by Brayden Smith’s 227-236-212-237-223-182-1,317, which placed him 12th overall, and Jack Frost’s 140-158-165-187-172-268-1,090. Aydon Heim, Tyler Waugh and Tucker Merritt turned in series of 964, 849 and 678, respectively.
Gowanda was ninth in Class D and 15th in Division II with an 805-830-854-794-791-806-4,880.
The Panthers were paced by Johnny Smuda’s 163-179-223-190-224-171-1,150 and David Malek’s 189-177-182-177-145-167-1,037. Drew Shull cracked a 981 series and Kenny Steklasa had a 958 set.
Frontier won Division I and Class A with a 1,059-1,085-1,132-1,036-1,091-940-6,343.
Besides Longo, Kenmore’s Jake Willard, Clarence’s Ryley Robinson and Sweet Home’s Charles Buttery threw perfect games.
The girls will bowl today.
